After a very hot weekend at the river, we headed back to Austin on Sunday afternoon. I don't think we were home for 10 minutes before we were all in the pool! Mom had lots of snacks, drinks and a yummy dinner made, so we enjoyed an evening of swimming, John's mojitos, eating and being together. We really missed Em and Henry, though! Dad and Carson made a pickle light - yes, literally a light made out of a pickle - not really sure how the wholething works, but Carson thought it was really cool!
The boys and I had made plans to stay in Austin for the week to hang out with Yaya and Grumpy. Kenny left early Monday morning to head to College Station to be with Gigi during her knee surgery. She is doing great by the way - no more limping or pain - yeah! Molly left Monday afternoon and John stayed til Tusday. It was great to get in some good time with them. The rest of the week we swam, relaxed, visited Marmee, celebrated my birthday and spent time with Mom and Dad. Friday morning the boys and I left to go to Castroville to visit Shannon, Mike and the kids - pics to follow. Then Saturday we went on to Kerrville for Aunt Sherry and Uncle Tom's 50th wedding anniversary surprise party. Now you know why I have been referring to this week as our "Tour de Tejas"! :) Mom and Dad took us to meet Kenny on Sunday in Waco and we got home just in time to gear up for a week of VBS at church.
