Birthday Fun...

We celebrated the boy's birthdays over the weekend with a joint birthday party (for Carson a few weeks late, for Collier a few weeks early). I figure the years I will be able to do this are limited since Carson will soon want his own party, but when I proposed this idea to Carson he LOVED it. We had it at a park near our house that has a great playground and covered pavilion area. Although it was pretty hot on Saturday, there was a nice breeze and the pavilion was fairly pleasant. We let the kiddos play, have lunch from Chick-fil-a (the boy's fave) and birthday cupcakes. We took tons of pics, which I will get downloaded to a Picasa album soon, but here are some of my favorites. It was great to have both sets of grandparents (the boy's have the BEST grandparents two little guys could ever wish for!), Aunt Karen, Kaitlyn and Aunt Nan and tons of friends to celebrate with. We missed those that could not be with us, but I am sure the boy's would be willing to celebrate again (as is the plan for our July trip to NC when we visit Memy and Henry - Carson has reminded me of this several times!).
Kenny and I feel so blessed to have these two...
This is my favorite picture...taken by our friend Shaye. So sweet!

The birthday boys!
Sweet friends...not pictured here are a lot of Collier's friends (at least 5 other babies I think) that would not sit still for a group photo op.
Their birthday sign that Yaya made. It matched the plates and napkins. I managed to find plates that had a cake with one candle and napkins that had a cake with 5 candles (that all went together). I was totally excited about this...Kenny was totally unimpressed! :) We asked all of our guests to bring canned goods or food items for Frisco Family Services (the local charity that supports the food pantry) in lieu of gifts. While they still got tons of presents, we collected enough food, etc...to fill the back of my Expedition. We will deliver it next week when Carson gets home from his week at both grandparents. A friend of ours sits on the board of FFS and is going to arrange a behind the scenes tour for us when we deliver the food. I was really proud of Carson for being willing to give up gifts (although he still got PLENTY!), to collect food. This is something they did throughout the year at his school, too.

Singing Happy Birthday to Carson...we sang to each of them individually.

Always those fingers...note all the icing and cupcake on them! :)
Yaya and Grumpy

Aunt Nan...we missed Uncle Slim!
Gigi and PawPaw
More Legos...such a happy face! Note the money sticking out of his shirt pocket. He is currently saving his money for a Nintendo DS.

Collier opening some of his presents with the help of big bro and cousin KayKay.
